Secret Proposal / Rumi and Alisha

Lighthouse Park is a amazing scenic park located close to Vancouver, British Columbia. It is a popular tourist attraction for visitors to Vancouver as it is a National Historic Site of Canada. This location has a lot to offer especially for nature lovers and therefore Rumi decided that this would be the place to save in their memories forever.

Rumi reached out to me with his idea a week before the proposal and we began to work on a secret plan. The main thing was to choose the perfect place. Initially we decided on two locations. An outdoor location, Lighthouse Park and also an indoor location, Queen Elizabeth Park, in case of rain.

We met at Lighthouse Park and checked out the area. We found a beautiful scenic spot and Rumi told me that this is the place where he would like to propose to his girlfriend regardless of the weather. We agreed on the precise position, spot, date and time, and then we prayed for good weather.

On the day of the proposal, I arrived at Lighthouse Park half an hour early to check the lighting and to set up my camera. Luckily the weather was good with no rain or dark clouds in sight. I took a seat by the rocks, watched the seals and enjoying the serenity while I waited for Rumi and his girlfriend. Our plan was for me to be secretly waiting for them by the rocks and I would take the photo from a distance so not to disturb the moment. After a while I had not spotted the young couple and I was beginning to be little bit nervous until I finally saw them arrive. I prepared and captured the beautiful, romantic moment when Rumi got down on his knees and popped the question.

After some time Rumi waved me over and I joined the newly engaged couple who were full of positive energy and happiness. Alisha was surprised a second time as I arrived and she saw how her fiance had arranged to capture the engagement forever. We then continued the engagement photography session. It was a good atmosphere and we walked through the Lighthouse Park, capturing the morning with both candid photos and arranged poses.

It was a lovely photoshoot with a happy ending, and I was honored to be part of that. Congratulations to both Rumi and Alisha. I’m looking forward to preparing the photography for their wedding in 2020.
